The first time I gave out a proof copy of Mimi's book (ahead of publication) it was hard. I've lived with the version on my computer for so long. Suddenly, I didn't want to let it go.
It reminded me when we moved our oldest into her dorm as a college freshman at the University of Texas at Austin. No one told me when Katie was a baby she would someday leave the safety of the nest. In that "moving in" moment, I had second thoughts. Had Rick and I prepared Katie enough to fly? But not just fly. Will she soar in the college environment?
It has been the same with the book. Now people will read it. Just remember that life is multi-layered with lots of great and special moments. But in between the graham cracker crust and the whipped cream topping there are sometimes bittersweet fillings. This is that kind of book. Ultimately, like Katie, and later, Ricky, I choose to fly.
I am honored and humbled the news of the Mimi's book has been shared over 40 times in just two days across my social platforms.
I gratefully share the link to purchase and/or review A Joyful Embrace: A Memoir on Amazon.
So excited about this book Mimi was very special to us. We loved her hugs always. Rocco "Buddy" and Pat Costa. 😍
